Our Visit:

We decided to give this walk a go on a Sunday evening, the benefit being that most of the day tourists had disappeared and we were left to enjoy the walk mostly by ourselves. The first part of the walk is pretty steep, but it still follows a clear path, so no rambling on rocks or anything. The path climbs up pretty quickly through the woods, before you find yourself at a clearing where you will see Harrop tarn, which is absolutely beautiful. Cross the bridge on the left to get a fab photo!

If you fancy calling the walk a day there, you can simply turn round and head back to the car park from here. Or alternatively, follow the yellow signs to take the longer loop back. This way you’ll get some good views of Thirlmere too.
