There is a decent size car park at the top of Applethwaite Lane (CA12 4PH). It fills up quick though, so get there early for a space, especially if you are in a campervan.

Our Visit:

This was a half term adventure for Keira and the kids. In fact, they loved it so much they did it twice! Just kidding, they did it twice because she lost her keys on the side of the mountain and had to retrace her steps. Not the best move, but fortunately for her she got lucky and someone handed them back! Anyhow, if you are spending any time in the North Lakes and want to get some amazing views with little effort, this is the walk for you. At just 1.6 miles from the car park to the summit and back again, it makes for a great family walk for even the littlest of legs. The views are absolutely stunning too!
