Free Parking across the road at LA8 8HB. Only a small car park, so possibly only suitable for smaller vans.
Our Visit:
Technically not in the Lake District, but close enough. Scout Scar near Kendal is the perfect little short walk if you are after some stunning views without the effort. Not only that, but it’s almost a bit of a local gem, so it tends to be relatively quiet in comparison to the nearby busy areas of Windermere and Ambleside. It’s just a short walk up to get to enjoy the views, there is a viewpoint known as the scout scar mushroom, so make your way to that before turning around or continue for as long as you fancy.
Just be careful with the kids near the cliff edge!
